1.0 Welcome to Healthuma
Health to Human International Medical Center (Healthuma) is committed to providing exceptional, compassionate, and safe healthcare to all individuals in our community. This Conduct Protocol outlines the expectations for behavior for all patients, visitors, staff, and physicians within our facilities. Our primary goal is to create a healing environment that is respectful, secure, and free from disruption for everyone.
We ask for your partnership in maintaining this environment by adhering to the following guidelines.
2.0 Our Core Principles: Respect, Safety, and Privacy
All individuals within Healthuma are expected to:
Treat everyone with respect, dignity, and courtesy.
Contribute to a safe and secure environment.
Protect the privacy and confidentiality of all patients and staff.
3.0 Patient Rights and Responsibilities
As a patient, you have the right to high-quality care. In partnership with your care team, you also have responsibilities:
3.1 Patient Responsibilities:
Provide, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and complete information about your health, medications, and medical history.
Ask questions if you do not understand your treatment plan or instructions.
Follow the recommended treatment plan and inform your doctor if you believe you cannot follow it.
Be aware of and accept the consequences of your decisions if you refuse treatment.
Fulfill your financial obligations for your healthcare.
Respect the rights, property, and privacy of other patients, staff, and visitors.
Keep appointments, or provide timely notice if you need to cancel.
4.0 Visitor Guidelines
To support our patients' healing and rest, we have established the following visitor policies:
4.1 Visiting Hours:
General visiting hours are from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily.
Visiting hours in critical care units (ICU, CCU), maternity, and behavioral health units may vary. Please check with the nursing station for unit-specific hours and policies.
All visitors must check-in at the main reception or nursing station and may be required to show a valid photo ID.
4.2 General Visitor Policies:
Number of Visitors: To ensure patient rest and safety, we generally allow no more than two visitors at a time per patient. The care team may make exceptions based on the patient's condition and unit circumstances.
Age Restrictions: Visitors under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times and are generally not permitted in high-risk areas such as the ICU.
Health of Visitors: For the protection of our patients, please do not visit if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cough, cold, diarrhea, or have been recently exposed to a communicable disease (e.g., chickenpox, COVID-19, flu).
Patient Condition: Visiting may be limited or restricted at the discretion of the clinical team based on the patient's medical condition, need for rest, or procedures being performed.
Overnight Visitors: Overnight stays are permitted only in private rooms and must be pre-approved by the patient's nurse. One adult (18+) visitor may stay overnight.
5.0 Expected Standards of Conduct
All individuals on Healthuma property are expected to behave in a civil, respectful, and cooperative manner. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:
5.1 Zero-Tolerance for Violence and Aggression:
Physical violence of any kind, including hitting, pushing, kicking, or throwing objects.
Verbal abuse, including yelling, swearing, name-calling, derogatory or discriminatory remarks, threats, or intimidating language or gestures. This applies to in-person interactions, phone calls, and electronic communications.
Sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual comments or behavior.
Harassment, intimidation, or bullying of any kind based on race, religion, ethnicity, language, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, or any other characteristic.
5.2 Safety and Security Protocols:
Compliance with Staff Directives: All patients and visitors must comply with reasonable requests and instructions from Healthuma staff, physicians, and security personnel.

5.3 Respect for Property and Environment:
Theft or damage to hospital property or the property of others is prohibited and may be prosecuted.

Wi-Fi: Public Wi-Fi is available for guests. Please be aware that public networks are not secure; avoid conducting sensitive transactions (e.g., online banking).
Interference with Medical Equipment: The use of certain electronic devices may be restricted in critical care areas as they can interfere with sensitive medical equipment. Always follow staff instructions.
7.0 Consequences of Unacceptable Conduct
Healthuma is committed to providing a safe environment. Individuals who engage in unacceptable behavior will be addressed as follows:
Verbal Warning: A staff member or security officer may issue a verbal warning requesting a change in behavior.
Written Warning: A formal written notice may be provided, outlining the violation and stating that further incidents will lead to removal.
Removal from Premises: Individuals may be immediately escorted from the building and prohibited from returning for a specified period or indefinitely. This decision will be made by Security in consultation with clinical leadership.
Involvement of Law Enforcement: Acts of violence, criminal threats, theft, possession of weapons, or other illegal activities will be reported immediately to local law enforcement and may result in arrest and prosecution.
Impact on Patient Care: In cases where a patient is engaged in severe or persistent unacceptable behavior, the care team will discuss the impact on their ability to deliver care. In extreme circumstances, it may lead to the patient being discharged from the facility.
